The Academic Board of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has approved new programmes yet to be introduced through both the sandwich and regular modes.
These programmes include Post-Diploma Bachelor of Education, Bachelor of Mathematics and Master of Arts Labour Studies. They will all be delivered in the sandwich period.
The Academic Board has also approved the following programmes: Doctor of Pharmacy, Bachelor of Science in Midwifery, Bachelor of Education Information and Communication Technology, all to be delivered in the regular mode. These programmes will modify the existing Bachelor of Education, Computer Science, Master of Science, Master of Philosophy, Doctor of Philosophy, Computer Science and Bachelor of Science, Water and Sanitation.
This was announced by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Joseph Ghartey Ampiah at a matriculation ceremony which took place on June 15, 2019, to officially admit two thousand, six hundred and seventeen (2,617) students to pursue various undergraduate and post-graduate sandwich programmes.
A total of two thousand, one hundred and thirty-three (2,133) of the enrolled students are pursuing post-graduate programmes with the remaining four hundred and eighty four (484) taking undergraduate courses.
Prof Joseph Ghartey Ampiah said the University of Cape Coast remains committed to the training of high quality and well-behaved professionals who can display their professional skills and intellect to spearhead the nation's economic development.
He added that UCC was committed to providing unrivalled academic excellence by providing the enabling environment to improve teaching and learning.
